I need a good pop-upblocker?

I need a good pop-upblocker for Internet Explorer 6.0, it has to be able to block ALL popups, it may not contain any spyware junkware or adware, and it must be free.

Please do not recommend another browser such as Opera or FireFox cause i love Internet Explorer.

Upgrade to IE 7. It has a built in pop-up blocker.

No pop up blocker gets everything. Sites continue to develop ways to get around blockers.

Are you unable to upgrade to IE7 it is a lot better and comes with built in pop up blocker and everything else you would need.
Well I have a mac and it says block pop_ups.Though I recommend switching 2 safari once I switched I have not gotton one pop-up.
get yahoo toolbar or google toolbar. They come with popup blockers
why don't you install the Google tool bar for IE,it has a inbuilt pop up blocker which is very effective.

wow, you really love IE huh? well, to be honest, i don't care much which browser wins in the ''wars'', coz in my profession, it's important to know what works with one browser and what doesn't work with another.

I'd suggest, you install the Yahoo! toolbar. Allows you to extend the capabilities of IE (including the tabbed window -- a useful feature which I like about mozilla), and has a decent pop-up blocker and anti-spyware capability.

Is there a program that I can create midi music with just using my computer?

It would need to be freeware without adware. I have no keyboard attached to my computer. I just want to be able to compose simple music and make midi files with it. If it had a simulated keyboard that would be the best. However, I can read music. Thanks!!!!!

I get a messages stating ''your computer is in danger! Windows security center has detected spyware/adware infection! It is strongly recommended to use special antispyware...'' My Spybot will open but when I try to search and destroy I get an error message and the program shuts down. Same thing happens with Norton. Any suggestions? Will Malware removal work? I can burn CDs on this comp to help my laptop. PLEASE HELP! Thanks.

Boot your computer into safe mood (press F8 as your computer is booting up and from a list, choose Safe Mode). If you are able to get to the main desktop of Windows, open Norton and do a scan of your whole system. I recommend doing the same with the Spyware removal program as well. Once you are done scanning is safe mode, reboot the computer and try scanning all over again after your computer has booted up normally.

I believe you have a bad driver trying to load. Either that or a bad startup program. You should boot your machine and press F8 and select SAFE MODE. Once Windows starts in SAFE MODE go to

START | RUN | msconfig

Go to the STARTUP tab and uncheck everything. Reboot.

This time, do not go into SAFE MODE. If it boots into windows, you have a bad program trying to start. Run each program that was in the startup until one fails. Then you can fix that program by reinstalling it.

If not, you have a bad driver. In this case you should boot into SAFE MODE again and remove one piece of hardware at a time in Device Manager and reboot until you find the bad one.
What's causing it to do that is a Systems Crash at startup...so you're stuck in the endless cycle of bootup, crash, reboot, crash and so on...

Hi, I am looking to startup a new business that designs and builds custom PC's, and I am fond of the term ''ware'' as it's a common word in the PC industry, ie. softWARE, hardWARE, adWARE, spyWARE, etc.

My question is, if I name my business something like ''LightningWare'' or ''PowerWare'' (those are just made up examples) am I likely to run into any legal issues, since another major custom PC manufacturer out there is named ''AlienWare'' ?

Since ''Ware'' is such a common term in the PC industry, I'm hoping it wouldn't be an issue. What do you think?

''Too similar'' -- from a legal standpoint -- is when the name is ''confusingly similar'' to that of a competitor. If your name confuses as little as 5% of potential customers, you could be held liable for lost profits if the owner of the ''senior'' registered trademark sues you.

The name ''ware'' is generic, and you won't get into any trouble as long as your name isn't ''confusingly similar'' to that of another.

I used to work for a small company called SVM Machining and there was another bigger company within 20miles called SVM Group. They only thing is that people might confuse the two, we used to get some calls for the other company.

Slow ping speeds?

The problem is i have one pc that has the worst ping time and also times out ..Its not the cable modem hooked striaght up to a differnet pc i get 10 ms - 20ms with no request timed out.. with the 2nd i get 750 ms - 1250ms and a lot of time outs. same modem and same cat 5... on the second pc i ran updated virus scan ..adware ...bypassed nic card.. with usb... still same results... diabled all firewalls , norton virus , reset the pc back to earlier date... cleaned cookies reset the network settings i am at a lost any other ideas? Without wiping the hard drive.....

If that is anything more than 1ms, then you need a new NIC.

If it comes back fine, then check your NIC driver, make sure Windows IE7 is not installed, try safe mode WITH networking (will eliminate most software issues it could be) or just break out the hammer and beat the crap outta it until it works right.

Sounds like a bad network card. Try reinstalling the network card driver (updated) first. If not, try a different network card.
maybe your motherboard doesnt support speeds that fast. If it is an older mobo than this is probably the case. good luck.
So is this PC connected directly as well or wirelessly? It could be a problem with the order QoS(quality of service) setting in the modem that sets the one PC to have a much better control over the bandwidth. Try disconnecting that good PC and then just run them with the other PC.

This is an old machine short on memory to be running XP. Not to be rude - but your laptop is worth $150 tops.
As a used computer reseller, I would sell a laptop with those specs easily for $100 to $200. I wouldn't expect to get much more than that given it only has one USB port and 192mb ram and no CD-R.
