Downloading files?

1) What site do you use to download files?

2) Have you had any problems with getting adware/spyware/viruses?

3) Do you have a prefered poster that you choose to DL from (never had a problem with anything you DL from them)?

4) If you have contracted an nasty bit of programming what was it and what happened? (for me .. it is smitfraud ... may it's makers die a horrible and painfully prolonged death .. and after trying everything i could think of ... and most of the suggestions i got off of several different forums... I finally decided to format my hard drive and start over from scratch because i refused to buy the removal software since it is made by the same evil bastards that put out smitfraud in the first place)

I use utorrent. Download the program at www.utorrent.com. Run and search for your desired program to download. As with any other free download sites, you have to be careful in sifting the viruses, trashy programs from real gem programs.

It's a hit and miss thing but there are general rules to follow to avoid accidentally downloading a virus program -

- Always have a reliable antivirus/antispyware program installed before attempting to enter the site.

- Do not download a program if the file size is abnormally small. Less than 1mb programs are suspicious.

- Check the comments and number of leechers downloading from the torrent. If there are plenty of downloaders, chances are it's good.
