Adult pop up question?

ok simple question can adult pop ups occur on a computer even if no adult sites were ever visited on my computer (this is my work laptop no adult sites were ever visited) i want answers that are very true if so please site your source there is no adware virus spyware nothing bad on it i just always get these adult pop ups

Well, some fairly innocent sites have the occasional adult themed pop ups. Do you get the same pop ups when you go to a certain site? Are the pop ups appearing regardless of the site?

Do you have any add on toolbars or similar exe's running? These often contain pop up generators.

Most likely option would be that you do have some form of malware in the system. How sure are you that there is absolutely nothing in there?

The FIRST thing to do is DISABLE System Restore.

If enabled, this allows malware to hide in the computer and re-install itself. To disable it, RIGHT-click on "My Computer." Select "Properties" then under the 'System Restore' tab, check 'Turn off system restore' IF not already checked.

The next most helpful things that would help you are to use ONLINE scanners from websites to remove any malware on your PC.
